(Reuters) – Russia’s deputy international minister Sergei Ryabkov will maintain a gathering with Lynne Tracy, the brand new U.S. ambassador to Moscow, early subsequent week, the RIA information company reported on Saturday.
Tracy arrived in Moscow earlier this week. Russian Overseas Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stated on Friday that the brand new U.S. ambassador wouldn’t enhance ties between the 2 international locations due to what she known as Washington’s ongoing “hybrid conflict” in opposition to Russia.
Relations between Washington and Moscow have been at all-time low since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine final February. Russia casts the conflict as confronting what’s says is an aggressive and expansionist U.S.-led NATO alliance, whereas Kyiv and its allies name Russia’s actions an unprovoked land seize.
In line with Ryabkov, the normal presentation of copies of credential by Tracy is already agreed upon.
“It’s going to happen actually initially of the week. It’s anticipated that the switch of copies of credentials by Ambassador Tracy can be made to me,” he stated.
