Pakistan scored a massive 155-run victory in the Asia Cup, dismissing Hong Kong for 38 runs. This is Pakistan’s biggest win in terms of runs in T20 cricket. Playing first, Pakistan team scored 193 runs for 2 wickets. In reply, Hong Kong were reduced to 38 runs in the eleventh over. With this win, Pakistan became the last team to go into the Super Four.
In the match, Hong Kong won the toss and decided to bowl first and sent Pakistan captain Babar Azam to the pavilion on a personal score of 9 runs. After this Mohammad Rizwan and Fakhar Zaman made a century partnership. Zaman was dismissed for 53 runs in 41 balls. Rizwan remained at the crease after fifty. In the end, Khushdil Shah batted with fire and hit four sixes in the last over. He scored 35 not out in 15 balls. His innings included 5 sixes. Rizwan remained unbeaten on 78 off 57 balls. In this way the score of Pakistan team reached 193 runs for 2 wickets.
Playing in the counter-innings, Hong Kong had a poor start. Naseem Shah dismissed captain Nizakat Khan on a personal score of 8 runs. This process which started from here never stopped and continued till the end. Batsmen kept getting out one after the other. None of the Hong Kong batsmen reached double digits and the team was reduced to 38 runs in the fourth ball of the eleventh over. Shadab Khan took 4 and Mohammad Nawaz took 3 wickets for Pakistan.
