(Reuters) – A courtroom in military-ruled Myanmar on Wednesday sentenced deposed chief Aung San Suu Kyi to a few years in jail on expenses of accepting a bribe, a supply with information of the matter stated.
The 77-year-old Nobel laureate, a figurehead of opposition to navy rule, faces expenses for not less than 18 offences from graft to election violations, carrying mixed most phrases of almost 190 years. She has denied any wrongdoing.
