TOKYO (Reuters) – Japan and the USA are engaged on arranging a summit between Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and President Joe Biden in New York round Sept. 20 to debate safety points in East Asia, Kyodo information reported on Saturday.
China’s rising strain on Taiwan, North Korea’s nuclear check threats and Russia’s invasion of Ukraine are amongst points to be mentioned, with the summit prone to be held on the sidelines of the United Nations Basic Meeting assembly, Kyodo stated, citing sources in each governments.
Kishida can be prone to attend the funeral of Queen Elizabeth in Britain along with Japan’s Emperor Naruhito earlier than visiting the USA, TV Asahi reported earlier on Saturday. Biden has stated he’ll attend the queen’s funeral.
