CANNES (Reuters) – The provocatively titled movie “How one can Have Intercourse,” about three British teen women who go on vacation with the purpose of ingesting, clubbing and hooking up, gained the highest prize within the “Un Sure Regard” competitors on the Cannes Movie Competition on Friday.

Nevertheless, there was a slight hiccup: Molly Manning Walker was not within the room when the award for her debut function was introduced.

The director was on her manner again from Italy and operating late from the airport – prompting jury president John C. Reilly to belt out a tune to distract audiences in the course of the wait.

“I simply ran right here from Italy, guys,” stated the British director, who was out of breath when she lastly took the stage in a T-shirt and jogging shorts.

“Hounds,” by Kamal Lazraq, a couple of father and son in Casablanca who should cope with a kidnapping gone improper, took the jury prize, whereas the primary Sudanese movie to be included within the Cannes official choice, “Goodbye Julia,” took the liberty award.
