Handgun discovered inside uncooked rooster in baggage at airport, TSA says

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Safety officers at a South Florida airport have reported discovering a handgun hidden inside a uncooked rooster packed in a traveler’s baggage.

The Transportation Safety Administration posted photographs of the gun and poultry, with a pun-filled caption, Monday on its official Instagram account. The weapon was recovered on the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood Worldwide Airport.

“We hate to beak it to you right here, however stuffing a firearm in your vacation chicken for journey is only a baste of time,” the put up stated partially.

The put up didn’t determine the traveler who was transporting the weapon or whether or not any arrests had been made.

Based on the TSA, recent meat, seafood and different non-liquid meals objects are permitted in each carry-on and checked baggage, so long as they’re packed in ice. Unloaded firearms are allowed to be transported in checked baggage, however they should be declared on the ticket counter and packed in a locked hard-sided container.
