WASHINGTON (Reuters) – U.S. President Joe Biden mentioned in an interview broadcast on Sunday that U.S forces would defend Taiwan within the occasion of a Chinese language invasion.

Requested in a CBS 60 Minutes interview if U.S. forces would defend the self-ruled island claimed by China, he replied: “Sure, if in actual fact, there was an unprecedented assault.”

Requested to make clear if he meant that not like in Ukraine U.S. forces, women and men, would defend Taiwan within the occasion of a Chinese language invasion, Biden replied: “Sure.”
